Kit for mounting components for astrophotography rigs using lenses and telescopes with a focus ring, and based on ZWO ASIAIR Pro, Plus, mini and ZWO EAF. The set allows compact, flexible and extensible mounting. Compared to other kits, it allows using a range of lenses and telescopes with the same kit by just varying inserts, rings and plates.

The kit helps in mounting essential hardware components for astrophotography with one or multiple lenses or OTAs. The ZWO ASIAIR astrophotography computer, the ZWO EAF, and the guide scope are placed on hexagon rings embracing the OTA or a lens. This allows a compact, well-arranged, and flexible setup. You can use the same kit with various OTAs and lenses. For this, you just need to exchange inserts fitting another OTA or lens and use a different belt. If you start using to a larger lens, you might need to upgrade the rings or rails, but all other parts would remain compatible and interchangeable. 

This kit also adds a belt drive for the ZWO EAF. Compared to other mounting approaches for ZWO EAF, this kit is based on a belt drive. The belt drive includes a tension mechanism supporting the freewheeling of the drive. This allows quick manual focusing in a needed direction. A belt drive is based on pulleys and timing belts with standard sizes and profiles. With this, you can easily find a replacement or variate dimensions or the transmission ratio.

The top plate provides mounting for a guide scope with a dovetail-shaped base. The provided clamps allow the mounting of a large range of different dovetail-shaped bases.

Both, ZWO ASIAIR and ZWO EAF are mounted on sliding holders so that they can be used in different positions and support a large range of mounting choices.

The kit's rails and rings have eyelets for cable management, and a velcro strip is included. 

All three current versions of ZWO ASIAIR can be mounted: Pro, Plus, and Mini. The Plus and Pro versions have the same mounting dimensions and share the same mounting plate. The Mini has other mounting dimensions and requires a dedicated mounting plate which is included in the package when you select Mini.

The kit can be ordered with an additional Vixen-style dovetail plate, a Losmandy dovetail plate, or with the Universal Bottom plate. The Universal Bottom plate can be used with metal dovetail plates to attach the rig to a mount. It also contains slot and rail for mounting of popular Vixen-style dovetail bars. Sich a bar can be ordered with that plate as an option. The William Optics plate has holes for mounting on dovetail bars provided by William Optics, for example, with RedCat 51 and RedCat 71 OTA. It has a flat profile and can be used with other dovetail bars.

The set includes:

• multiple 3D-printed parts
• inserts fitting the selected OTA or lens (you can order inserts for another length or OTA separately here)
• all required screws and nuts
• one pulley
• one timing belt fitting the selected OTA or lens. In some cases, an open belt with a lock will be provided
• ~30cm hook-and-pile fastener (also known as “velcro” (R) fastener)

The mounting kit is available in these color variants:

• Diffuse Nebula (a mix of black and red parts)
  
• Red Star (all parts and inserts are in red)
  
• Black Hole (all parts and inserts are in black)
  
• James Webb (hexagon rings and inserts are in yellow-gold and other parts are in black)
  

You can select the desired color option while ordering. You can also order the kit made in carbon-fiber-enforced material for even more rigid and stable construction.

When you open this product page, the default price is shown. This price corresponds a smaller lens, like Samyang 135, which requires small-sized components. Some lenses and OTA require larger rings and longer plates and rails. This will be indicated in your order and result in an additional price to cover the costs for larger parts. If you wish to use an unlisted lens or OTA, please contact me first so that we can discuss general feasibility. Custom adaptations are charged with a fixed fee which is independent of the resulted sizes. Please understand that I might refuse to do this custom adaptation for very rare and exotic lenses, which might not be interesting to other customers.
