Assembly and User Instructions for the Directional Yagi antenna for ZWO ASIAIR
The antenna can be assembled in around 10 minutes. Despite the parts supplied in your order, you will need 3mm, 2.5mm hex screwdrivers.
On all assembly steps, do not tighten the screws too much. This guide mentions the use of screws and other fasteners for reference purposes, and for those customers who bought a download version. If you bought the printed version, all screws and fasteners are included.
Please note that the cable is an optional purchase.

The two M4 nuts (DIN 934) should be pressed into the slots on the holder. This might be going a bit tough. Use one of the screws as a handle for this. A tough fitting is needed to make sure that the nut does not fall out of the slot.

After this, mount the holder on the casing of the antenna module. We use two M3 14mm total height, flat-head screws (DIN 7991). Beforehand, make sure that the module fully sits inside the casing.

On the next step, we place the M4 nut (DIN 934) into the brace the same way as we did it with the holder one step ago.

Insert the spherical part of the holder into the brace and use a tightening screw to slightly fix it. The holder can be placed in two directions in the brace depending on how the cable will be placed later.

Connect the antenna cable and insert the hook-and-pile fastener.

The tightening screw is used to fix the antenna in the needed direction. Do not overtighten it to avoid its damage.

Finished!

A few remarks about the cables. There are different types of cables with SMA connectors. They are different in the used materials, thickness, and construction. The picture below shows (left to right) RG174, RG316, and RG58 cables. The RG58 cable delivers the best performance, though it is thicker. This type of cable is also supplied as an option if you buy this product in a printed version from the Photastro shop.

The antenna is available in the Photastro shop.
