Downloadble Products License and Terms of Use

This document defines the terms of the use of digital models, in STL, STEP or other formats as well as technical documents provided as downloadable content. The purpose of the terms is to set customers’ expectations and prevent fraud and misuse of these assets. The development of the models required a lot of effort and material costs which are worth to be protected.

You may use the provided model files to 3D-print parts for your own use. You may print and make maximum three (3) full sets of gear with parts included in one download. You still may 3D-print replacement parts later on, in the course of the use.

The model files and the printed parts cannot by offered neither for money, nor free of charge to 3rd parties. They are for your own use only.

You may not upload the model files to any service if it can be made accessible or is accessible to other persons. You may store the provided files on personal cloud spaces, like iCloud or OneDrive, if those storage locations are not shared with persons and the files are readable only for you.

You may send files to a professional 3D-printing service for the purpose of printing of that parts for you. You have to inform this service that the files are not a public domain; they are copyrighted and proprietary material.

You may not include the model files as a composite part in any other commercial development conducted by you or other parties.

You may not use the model files to reverse-engineer the original design or parts of it.

3. The access and updates

The download links are provided to you with your order. They are linked to your account. You may not share these links or other related information about download locations with other parties.

The download links might provide updates as soon as those are available. There is no general commitment on how long or now frequent updates are provided. Any feedback is very welcome, whereas fixes will be integrated as time allows.

4. Modifications

You may make modifications of the model files for the purpose of better adapting the printed parts to your gear or for the purpose of better fastening with different nuts or screws. Any modification may not remove any embossed Photastro names, logos, version numbers, nor any watermarks which might be used on the provided digital models. Modifications cannot be done for the purpose of creation of other commercial products or competitive free-of-charge offerings.

5. Technical information

The information in the technical documents in the download package is provided to help you to build-up the final result or to find additional or replacement components on the market. This information should be treated as part of the product you purchase so being the subject of these terms, unless it is provided by Photastro as a part of a public product description.

6. Responsibility and liability

The materials provided in the downloads are provided for your tinkering project where you are responsible for all the risks and possible damages in the course of the works or while using the final results of this project with your gear. Some downloads and information in them might refer to powerful batteries and electronics components which can cause material or personal damages which you would be fully responsible for. You should also have sufficient skills and knowledge for the related works.
